We very much enjoyed the cruise. The transfer via bus from the airport went very
smoothly. It was $20/person, much cheaper than a $75 cab ride. Getting on board
was very quick (we got there at 1pm).
We had a room with 2 beds, which the stewards pushed together for us.
The rooms are small, but have a lot of built in storage space... You're better
off if your bags can fit under the bed..
The freestyle dining option was great.. we mainly did the buffet, and the seven
seas dining room... Buffet seemed a little hit or miss some days, but breakfast
was consistently very good. They also did BBQ several nights that was very good.
Seven Seas was great, we started ordering two entrees and two deserts as the
portions were a little small.
They had hand sanitizers before every meal which was reassuring to see.
The magician was very good, and a fun show to see.
The shore excursions are overpriced. In Belize, cave tubing from the ship was
$96, we booked online, and paid $60, and got to go through 2 caves rather than
1, which really wasn't a huge deal. However, we were taking tenders in, and ship
bought tix got to go off first, vs. waiting in line for tender tickets, which
got us in around 9am, rather than 30 min earlier, which was a little nerve
wracking.
In Cozumel, we took a cab to one of the beaches, which was about $15 for a 25
minute ride, where you pay $12, and can do all sort of little neat things. You
don't end up saving much money that way.
We skipped Cancun, due to the whole tender/delay/shopping mall atmosphere thing,
and certainly didn't feel like we missed much.
There were a number of cheesy shows, that were lots of fun, if you were in the
mood for them :)
