Itinerary: Western Caribbean
I have always cruised on Carnival, but my family wanted to take a cruise and NCL
had an inexpensive rate on this itinerary. The NCL cruise was horrible. I got
food poisoning the second night on the ship from eating the lobster at the
captain's dinner. I had to go to the infirmary the next morning when they opened
and they luckily gave me shot so I could stop vomiting. I was told by the doctor
that I was the eighth person to come in that morning with the same symptoms that
ate the lobster. NCL was not willing to do anything to accommodate me in any way
- the basically did not care that it ruined two days of my vacation and I
refused to eat anything on the ship that was not boxed or wrapped. The night
before we arrived back in Houston the Health Department sent out a survey asking
all passengers what food they ate the night of the Captain’s dinner- so I know
for a fact it was food poisoning.
Other then that the ship was old as dirt and through out the whole week I was
re-decorating it in my head since it was the year 2004 and it looked like it
stepped right out of the late 70's - early 80's. The food was horrible, the ship
was small and outdated, the staff was not very pleasant and did not care about
you as a paying customer b/c they were getting a 15% gratuity anyway. I DO NOT
recommend this cruise line at all! I am a young adult and even the crowd on the
ship was much older and the entertainment was horrible - so bad that it was
amusing to watch it and just laugh. NCL never contacted me - I thought I would
at least get a letter apologizing b/c the infirmary had record that I had gotten
sick. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have - thank you.
