Itinerary: Cancun, Cozumel, & Roatan
This cruise was our honeymoon and it was great!! It was my husbands first cruise and my 3rd. One thing I can say this ship was better than all of the rest was the food! Everynight they had great food (and normal for picky eaters).
Of course it was very romantic and the itinerary was very exciting. Cancun is the best if you are adventurous enough to wander the streets. Chankanaab National park in Cozumel is the BEST place to snorkel in the whole world in my opinion. It even has a beach for resting in between ventures into the water. There is a really neat path through the park with lots of aguanas and other Mexican wildlife (not dangerous of course). And best of all there are freshwater (cold) showers to wash off before going back in to town. It only cost about $5 for a cab ride to the park and about $8 to rent the snorkel gear. Much cheaper than an excursion. (I knew to do all of this because I have been there 2 times before!).
The only excursion we took was the kayak/snorkel excursion in Roatan. It was okay, my husband loved it, but he is more "manly" or whatever. I liked to snorkel and rest and snorkel some more. This is not the case in this excursion. They took us out to snorkel and snorkel and snorkel. Finally I told the guy I was going to drown and our ship was going to leave us and he decided it was time to go back. But it was fun. There are lots of bugs that leave little red dots all over your skin. Insect repellent is probably a good idea.
Back to commenting about the ship....It was really pretty and everyone was really friendly. I would recommend eating in the dining room as much as possible because it is soooo much better than the cafeteria style restaraunt (even though every once in a while a juicy hamburger and french fries sounds pretty good). The nice thing about that was you could eat at any time because it was always open!! I was NEVER hungery.
The shows were okay, some were just not our style. The comedian/magician was pretty good. Some shows we snuck out the back trying not to be spotted!!
One complaint we had was there was a time lapse when there was really not a lot to do. From the show till midnight we sort of wandered around. Teens could be in the disco till 12:00pm which sort of was a bummer. Some nights we fell asleep. But some nights we stayed up and partied with the awesome DJ in the disco.
It was a great time. Anyone taking this cruise will have a great time.
Don't forget the sun block. Everyone burns that far south!!
