Ship: Sea

Itinerary: Houston, Cozumel, Rotaton, Belize, Cancun
This was our second cruise on Norwegian, mainly because they do not charge for
kids under age 2.
The ship actually sails our of La Porte, Tx. Driving to the dock was just like
driving through a industrial area but once we arrived disembarkation was much
easier than Miami. We pulled up the check in area, dropped our luggage off to
the porters who hauled it away. Drove over to the parking lot which was no more
than 50ft away, parked and walked back to check in. When we arrived at 1:30pm
there was no one in line and we walked right up to the counter. Within 10
minutes we were on-board the ship.
The ship looked very nice and well kept. I did not see any rust and people were
constantly cleaning to maintain the ship. The room and shower was small but more
than adiquet for sleeping. Traveling with two small children it would have been
nice to have a little more room (aprox. 125sq ft) but we did fine. There was one
night which we could really feel the waves but other than the one night night
they were not to bad.
I'm not a food conisour but I though the food was very good. We actually meet
our waiter from our privious cruise. He works in the 4 seasons resturant and his
name is Candito. He is very attentive and we highy recommend you ask for him. We
also liked the bar-b-q's they had on deck. The ice cream bar is only open 1-3pm
but is available in the resturants. Even with the limited times my 3yr old got
all the ice cream she wanted.
Traveling with two kids we did not take any of the excursions but did visit each
port. We docked at Cozumel and Rotaton which was nice. In Belize we took a high
speed boat (covered) which only took about 10 minutes. In Cancun though the
tender took about a 40 minute ride each way.
Norwegian is also having tallent contest looking for future performers. My wife
entered the show which is on Friday. Given that it was also our 5th Aniversay
she was very exhited when she won. She received a trophy and is entered in
another contest to win a free cruise. So if you have some good tallent (mainly
sining) I would suggest bringing a tape and entering.
Again we were traveling with our two kids (3yrs and 8months) so there was many
things we did not attempt. But we still had fun and the kids had a ball. Dont
not go because you things the kids will be too much trouble. Everyone on the
crew was constantly adoring them and helping open doors, move chairs etc.
Two down sides were that the weather was much cooler than I had expected in the
Carabiean. We had planned on going to the beach in Cancun but the water was much
too cold and even the next day we had planned on going to the pool, but the wind
and the temperature had everyone pulling out their long sleve shirts.
The other complaint is the people on board who could not follow the smoking and
no smoking signs. When eating on desk on side is smoking and the other side is
no smoking. We constantly had people smoking in the no smoking section and no
one was enforcing anything.
On return to Houston if you wanted to carry all your luggage off you could exit
the ship first. We did not do this but were still off the ship by 10:30am.
