This was our first ever cruise. Not knowing what to expect, we were surprised at what we did encounter. Had a great time. We'll definitely do it again with the same cruise line. Only bad things were the size of the room, check-in in San Juan, and some of the shore excursions. We had a suite with balcony. The balcony made all the difference. The room was small but efficient. Didn't spend allot of time there anyway so it wasn't to bad. The check-in procedure in San Juan needs improvement. While standing in line to check-in, your handed a form to fill out first before check-in. The form is small and they didn't provide a pen, pencil or place to sit and fill it out. Quite hectic. You'll need your passport / birth cert. drivers license, credit card, cruise receipt, and this form to check in. Bring a pen and be ready. The shore excursion to Martinque was a poor. Feel like I didn't get my monies worth. Didn't see or do half of what was listed. Heard same opinions from others. NCL should consider dropping Mart. from their stops. The on-board cruise consultant advised passengers that Mart. was poor. Bad shopping, poor excursions, bad attitudes of locals. If possible, either just go to a beach or stay on board. The food was top rate. The free style cruise experience was great. No complaints with service or ship. The entertainment was good not great. Staff friendly and helpful.
