A "fun" run away weekend cruise. Mix of mostly adults, fun seeking people, and not many children. The balcony cabin was very clean and just big enough for 2 people. All amenities(soap/shampoo/conditioner) provided, but if you need more than 1 bottle of any of them you need to ask. Extra towels were brought promptly. Rooms were quiet. Deck 9 Aft. About boarding - we planned on arriving at 1 and being on board by 1:30. We were wrong. This was the only bottleneck of the entire trip. The check-in process is very slow. It appears that many people come unprepared. READ THE DIRECTIONS GIVEN TO YOU BY NCL - then it is easy and very fast when it is your turn.

Suggestion to NCL - when a family or group is to board together, have a separate line. It rained one day and NCL immediately had a "rainy day" plan. Good value for the money. Saw 2 Carnival and 1 Royal Caribbean ship in the Bahamas - Sky had many balcony rooms while the others had few or none. Read my food comments if you are a foodie!

Food was usually mildly seasoned, fresh lettuce and salad greens were very fresh! Omelets, carved meats or burgers cooked to order were very hot and good. Breads and pastries were fresh and a large variety for all tastes.Don't miss the specialty restaurants - we did both the French and Italian restaurants ($15 & $10 additional) - a world of difference! The Crossings and Palace food was OK, but I am a foodie and The Bistro and Il Adagio gave me a WOW experience. Food taste, service, wines - all top notch for just a few dollars more for those of us who appreciate the finer things in life.

There was something for everyone in the on board activities. I enjoyed the different musicians throughout the ship.
South Beach dance party, piano player in a bar, solo "folk-style" guitarist, calypso band at the pool - all very enjoyable. The comedian was great!

I did not do any excursions -

Norweigan did a good job. Hints to the travelers - you never get the same person to help you twice - I tipped our first room steward when we got on board. We didn't see him again till the second night. In the bar and special restaurants tip your servers - 15% is fine. They do a very good job. Spa personnel also need to be tipped. Massage was very good - a little too mechanical for my preference, but a good massage. When they try to sell you products just ask them to stop and they do. For a ship this size, there is a very small steam room and sauna. But the fitness center was very good. Equipment was well maintained and worked well.

Cruise ship personnel were always very nice, smiling and wanted to please you.
