My husband and I went on Norwegian Spirit as first time cruisers with very high expectations. We were both let down. The food in the buffet restaurant was worse than school cafeteria food (the food in my cafeteria at work is 5 star compared to the food on the Spirit). Drinks were extremely expensive, shore excursions were outrageously expensive, the $10 per person per day charge was ridiculous, the cover-charge at the restaurants is inexcusable (we pay so much for a cruise and you have the nerve to charge us to go to one of your restaurants???). They charged me my room bill ($1,100.00) plus a hold of $900.00 on my bank account for 4 days that had me in the negative and bounced checks. Disappointed? YES. Will we go NCL again - NOT IN THIS LIFETIME. Not unless they offered us a free suite for the week. Next time I go Carnival. I know one cruise line that is going to get a VERY nasty letter from me.
