Norwegian Sun Cruise Review
Arrived in Seattle at 130pm and was taken to the Convention Center to wait for boarding which was VERY delayed. We were offered a box lunch. Finally boarded ship at 9pm and began the quest for something to eat. (bed wasn't turned down but was charged 20 dollars for the day) Food was terrible in the Buffet area. In the pizza/pasta cafe you could only get water and ice tea. Lots of kids dine there. If you wanted milk or coffee you had to get it from the buffet and take it back. Staff was always there to bring expensive drinks from the bar though. Must of had abundance of chicken because it was served every time I was there. LONG lines at the buffet and other 2 dining areas. Found it hard (almost impossible) to get breakfast on days I had to get off the ship early for outings. The best food I had aboard the ship was at the East meets West. Steak/seafood was very good. Seven/Four seas were pretty good.
My friend got sick 2 days after boarding along with a lot of other people. He purchased the 42 dollar soda card only to use it twice. Shore outing were ok. Did not get to see Sawyer Glacier because of the ice bergs. The train ride in Skagway was way over priced at $106 pp. You travel 20 miles up then coast back the same way. Lumberjack show was pretty good. Lots of chances to buy jewelry. Every town had well over a dozen shops just on the main street. Casino for the most part was expensive.
Photographers held up lines which made lots of people upset that were trying to get to their meeting point on time. Not much variety for the shows. Same show at 730 and 930.When I hear people say they gained weight from all the food, I want to know where they were eating !We lost weight just running around the ship trying to find something to eat. I ended up ordering room service so I could have some coffee. This being our first cruise I'm not sure if I want to do it again.
