Norwegian Sun Cruise Review
Panama Canal

My husband and I took our first cruise
this month and we thought that we had prepared well and explored all of the
options. The brochures were wonderful and filled with a lot of activities but
the cruise was a huge disappointment. We felt less than welcomed by the staff .
The food was less than stellar. The coffee was the worst that I have ever
tasted. The only place that you could get coffee free was the buffet or
restaurants. Enjoying a cup of coffee while sitting in a lounge looking at the
scenery was impossible unless you paid for it. The crew did not try to involve
people in any activities on board and I got the feeling that they couldn't have
cared less if anyone did participate. The shows were scheduled too late in the
evening for anyone to enjoy if they were taking any of shore excursions. The
songs were all from the fifties and sixties. The excursions of the ship were
wonderful but I must admit that they were overpriced also. The worst thing that
happened was that my daughter called the ship during the middle of the week to
inform me of a death in the family and she was told that we were not registered
on the ship. She told them the name of the group that we were with and the name
of other passengers that we were traveling with and was told that none of us
were on board. It cost her $40 dollars to find out nothing and not be able to
talk with me. It was very heartbreaking for her and the rest of my family to
have to wait for five more days for me to get home. The cruise line had to have
an emergency contact from us before we cruised but then couldn't find us on the
ship. I would certainly not recommend this cruise line to anyone and I am not
certain that I would try another cruise considering the enormous cost of
cruising. I feel that I can get more for my money by flying in to some
destination and then doing the excursions from there.
