First and LAST time on this line. NCL advertises "Freestyle Cruising". They need
to remove the word "free". Not much is free on this ship. My past cruise
experience found that the only extra charges on board were alcohol, and soda. On
NCL, EVERYTHING is extra!! Of the 6 or so restaurants, only 2 were free, besides
the buffet. NCL has a per person surcharge in all the other restaurants of
$12-15!!!!! In the french restaurant, my husband ordered lobster, and was
charged $25 for it. I find it absolutely ridiculous that we were charged for
food. NEVER experienced it on other lines. Very difficult to make reservations
(which are a must) in these places. You need to call 2 days in advance to get
in. The free places had an hour wait usually. Charges for exercise classes,
computer classes, $30 for bingo (4 games), couldn't even get water in cabin
without being charged $3.75. Tips are automatically included on NCL. $10 per
person, per day! If you want to attempt to argue the charges at the end of the
cruise they invite you to stand in a mile long line to fight with them. Tips
should be up to the discretion of the customer. Did not appreciate an automatic
tip on every soda I bought. Food in Seven Seas restaurant was terrible. Chicken
tasted like rubber. All eateries, including the buffet had the same desserts
every single night. No variety. Staff was extremely friendly and accomodating.
We spent more on food and drink than we did on our ticket! Entertainment wasn't
very good. Some of the better bands only played 1 hour in the evening. We were
then forced to go to the disco, which was too loud and played annoying music.
SHip was EXTREMELY smokey. Difficult to breathe in passing thru areas.
Definitely would NOT recommend this cruise line.
