Itinerary: Alaska
My first and last experience with NCL and their Freestyle cruising can be summed
up by one word disappointing!! I have to admit I read some of these reviews
before booking my trip and thought some of you are just fussy....I was wrong.
Stateroom:
We booked an outside balcony cabin category BE and were please to find out we
were upgraded to category BA. What we weren't pleased to find out is that we
were located directly under the aerobics room where frequent aerobics AND
dancing classes were held.
Food:
NCL pretty much forces you to pay the extra cover charges for their Freestyle
restaurants as the food and service in their main dining rooms and garden cafe
is so terrible. I will admit I ate at Le Bistro the food was excellent but cost
us an extra 30.00.
Entertainment:
The broadway type shows were awesome, the stand up comedian the "Cookie Man" very
funny. The only thing I didn't enjoy were the waiters constantly trying to sell
you drinks.
Alaska is beautiful. Whether on an excursion or standing on my balcony the
scenery was breathtaking. Take lot's of warm clothing and make sure to dress in
layers as it is freezing one minute and hot the next.
Summary:
NCL has very poor customer service,it's not good enough that you pay your
initial 3000.00 for the trip they want you to spend another 500.00 on your
shipboard account just to get a decent meal,a couple souvenir pictures and a
drink!! Go to Alaska it is beautiful just don't choose NCL.
