I thought I would say my piece while it was all fresh. We returned this week
from 10 days aboard the Wind. Overall, we were somewhat disappointed with the
cruise. The ship is small and requires some paint and luster. It seemed drab.
Half the crew seemed to undergoing training by the other half, and the food was
passable but not outstanding. Lunches on deck were hot dogs, burgers, fries and
ribs. Salads were meager-one day tomatoes next none. the selections were
limited. We are accustomed to bigger ships with more amenities. No one aboard
crew and guests seemed happy. The maitre d' in the 4 seasons was always gruff
and stern with both crew and guests- very evident. there were always line ups--
to meals, tenders, events.
Some of the excursions were disappointing. Parker Ranch is a 2 hour drive to a
gift shop. The lava flow on Hilo is only for the strong- it is a 3 mile walk in
the hot sun and our guide was in a very big hurry. The glass bottom boat was
unexciting- nothing to be seen
If we were given the choice , I don't think NCL would be our line of choice in
the future.
