This was my first cruise and will be my last. The maid and food service was great on the Wind, but that was all that was above average. From the moment we left San Francisco, things did not go quite right. There were dirty deck chairs piled up on the basketball court that no one was allowed to use, even though we needed them.

The on board photography class didn’t make because the photographer forgot about it. Most of the slots in the casino were nonfunctional. At least 20% of the workout equipment was broken. The winds were so strong the captain could not pull into Victoria, which was the only port-of-call on the trip. He said he was trying to get tugboats to help us. The tugs never showed up. The captain said he was going to reopen the casino for our amusement since we could not disembark at Victoria. He did not.

The ship listed for so long, the water pumps ran dry and we were without water on the ship for 2 hours. When we tried to ask staff members about our concerns, they were dismissive.

Finally, we caught a member of the bridge and expressed our concerns. He just called the reception desk and asked them if they knew about the problem. There were dirty plates on every surface. Any time we sat down in one of the lounge areas, I had to bus other people’s dirty plates off our table.
