Itinerary: Hawaiian Islands

My husband and I had a great time on this cruise. It was the best way we could think of to see all the islands and the least expensive way. The ship was beautiful. They had remodeled recently and we found it to be beautiful and very clean.

We landed in Honolulu on Friday so we spent two days in Honolulu and got to do all the touristy things. Of course, we visited Pearl Harbor and found time to go to the flea market that was near by. We got lots of souvenires at great prices. We stayed at the Radisson Prince Kahua for two nights. The hotel was nice. The lobby had been refubished and looked great. The rooms need a little attention though. It was nice because the day we were to go to the ship, they came to the room and picked up our luggage and transported it to the ship and directly to our rooms. This was a great feature. We just had to have our luggage packed and ready to go and they automatically came and got it and we did not have that worry.

The cruise itself was great. i would recommend it to anyone that wishes to see the islands. The rooms were particularly small. We had an inside cabin on the 9th floor forward. There was very little space to put clothing but we managed. We took extra hangers and hung most of our things. I also made use of the closet floor. There were 4 small drawers under the safe that we managed to use. We kept our dirty clothes in bags in our suitcases which we stored under the bed. The cabin was kept clean, thanks to our cabin boy and he was eager to help in any way.
The food was pretty good on the ship. We did not eat in any of the specialty restaurants but went to the crossings a couple of nights. We mainly ate in the buffet. They had a change of menu in the buffet each day. Each day was a different theme. It was quicker to eat in the buffet and their choices of desserts were great. I am a sweets eater so this was very important to me.
We did several different excursions and they were all worth doing. We went on a catamaran ride in Kona and went snorkeling, in Hilo we went to Fern Grotto and Rainbow falls. In Maui we rented a convertible and took the road to Hana. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. Pictures just do not do it justice. It was superb.

All in all we were very happy with our experience and would recommend this cruise to anyone that is interested in seeing the islands and do not need to be pampered and hand fed. The staff was very good about everything. They would do their best to make it a great cruise for every one.
