Norwegian Cruise Line
Pride of Aloha Cruise Review
7 Day Hawaiian Island from Honolulu

Number of Cruises: 5

This was our second cruise on Norwegian. The first was down to Mexico so we knew what Freestyle Cruising was all about. Traveling with us was our Son, Daughter-in-law and 16 year old grand-daughter.

We booked two Penthouse Suites on the aft of deck nine. 9075 and 9275. I had read that people were having problems with airfare booked with NCL and travel agents so we booked our own with Hawaiian leaving from Las Vegas which worked out great.

Now about the cruise it self. As Latitudes members our check in and boarding at Honolulu went very well. I had pre registered on the NCL web site and took copies with us for check in. The whole process including security and pictures took less than twenty minutes for all five of us.

Our Butlers, Lori and James were fantastic. They brought us breakfast early every morning as we had booked early shore excursions at all the ports. Our room steward kept the cabin spotless and left towel animals on our beds every night.

We made reservation for all of our evening meals for the specialty restaurants as soon as we boarded. We ate at 6pm every night and had no trouble finishing in time for the early show. The food and service was well worth the extra charge.

All of the shore excursions were cancelled the second day at Kauai due to very heavy rains. It's a good thing because that is the day that a dam broke and eleven people died. The rest of the shore excursions which we booked thru NCL were very nice. We saw a lot of whales while cruising along the Na Pali coast and again during the whale watch excursion at Maui. The night time sail by the lava from Kilauea Volcano flowing into the ocean was spectacular.

I've read a number of bad reviews on different web sites from people that have been on the Pride of Aloha. All of our family was very pleased with NCL and especially the crew of this ship. The ship was clean. We did not encounter any bad smells. The crew was pleasant and very helpfull and the Islands and the people are great. A wonderful seven days.
