Enjoyed the experience but Christmas is too busy - probably would enjoy a smaller ship at another time of year

Overall the food was good bearing in mind there were 2600 people on board over Christmas

Too noisy

Entertainment was excellent. Main pool was too small and lots of kids around. Usually went to the back to the smaller plunge pool

Only did a couple as I thought they were overpriced so cannot really comment.

Did not have any information regarding this cruise before embarking. On reflection I should have researched it more thoroughly as there were a few things I was disappointed in, but mostly the experience was a pleasant one. It did not take too long to embark perhaps a little under an hour as we had arrived early 1.00pm. Had to wait perhaps an hour for our cabin but went for lunch to the buffet whilst waiting. Was not too keen on the buffet as too many people and difficult to get a seat so we avoided eating there when we could although I thought the food was good and plenty of choice. We mostly ate in the Liberty in the evening or the Skyline which were both very good. Good food and service - can't complain. Also had breakfast one morning in the diner but food was cold and service bad. I thought some of the entertainment was excellent especially the tribute nights, but not the supposed "comedy" nights which were just not funny.

I thought the shore excursions were very overpriced e.g. in Maui we decided to do the beach day which was $52 each for a half hour trip, beach chair and water. Hilo was a bit disappointing but had a golf day in Kauai which was great, again a bit expensive but being a captive audience what choice do you have either do some excursions or get the free shuttle to the nearest shopping centre or stay on board. I shopped one day but that is enough. We also hired a car in Kauai for the day and drove to the north of the island which had caves and rain forrests but unfortunately it rained heavily that day so did not get out of the car to explore. We found the driving easy (even though we are used to driving on the other side of the road!) Roads were quite quiet.

Now to the cabin. We were on level 10 aft (for the uninitiated the back of the ship!). Lovely big balcony which had a sun lounger, table and 2 chairs. The cabin was adequate and larger than the one were on before on another cruise. I did not find cleanliness a problem as some have, all in all I was impressed with the level of cleanliness throughout the ship - expecially when entering restaurants where there is usually someone to spray your hands before eating. We had a problem in that our cabin was directly under the Aloha restaurant and every night at 3am the noise started from above, people walking and moving stuff around, I assume cleaning takes place at this time. That went on for half an hour and just when you were trying to get back to sleep it started again - moving of table and chairs around 5am as the cafe opened at 5.30am. After a couple of days I complained and was told it would be taken care of. Not so, it continued and I received three phone calls and a letter of apology, and then some chocolates and biscuits! I wanted it to stop - not chocolates and biscuits. One day to go and at 3.00am I complained to PR again but I guess as I was leaving the next day there was no response this time. Needless to say I left the ship a very tired person. So be very careful which cabin you choose. I spoke to people above the nightclub and theatre and they had a lot of noise from there. The hawaiian islands are very beautiful. I especially liked Maui and Kona and would definately visit there again on vacation but probably not on a cruise.
