This is my 4th cruise overall, my 2nd experience with NCL, but my first time on Pride of America. For the most part, I was pleased and surprised, since I had read some not so good reviews.

Other than one so-so piece of prime rib, I thought the food was very good. I was surprised to see no midnight buffett or chocolate buffet.

Stateroom was about as expected. Cleanliness was ok, except for needing to wipe down the inside of the drawers before putting the clothes away.

I think the daytime onboard activities may have needed a little boost. Part of the issue was that gambling is not in Hawaii-- (so no bingo, or casino activities). Other than the comedian just being so-so, the night-time entertainment was very good.

The excursions tended to be expensive. A little disappointed with the rainfall/volcano excursion in Hilo-- I thought we would see more than we did. Captain Zodiac snorkeling was excellent, Pearl Harbor tour was good, Luau was good- although the food wasn't as good as I thought it would be. But the Luau show was excellent. I thought the beach day in Maui excursion wasn't really worth what you paid (just a ride to the beach and nothing else).

I had a good time. Would probably do it again. The service charges were high in my opinion.

I was surprised to see a lot of older (55+) people. At times, I thought the excursions were a bit much for them, as far as safety.
