As CEO of a company that has taken numerous cruises on many lines, including Princesss, Holland American and Crystal, I have to say that NCL is possible the worst cruise line from a passenger/client standpoint. Once they have you on board and your fare in the bank, you're done. What you get is what you get, and they have no regard for your satisfaction as a passenger or a company with a group.

Mediocre, at best. Only the paid, add-on restaurants are decent so plan on eating every dinner in one.

Ok, but not great.

We booked 12 cabins on two cruises through the Hawaiian Islands in March 2011, and I can't begin to share the tales of the "can't do" attitudes that we encountered both before, and during the cruises. In fact, on the second cruise, NCL cancelled the stop in Kona because of misinformation about wave damage to the pier. Even though full information was provided and confirmed that no damage was done, the cruise skipped the port... with no compensation whatsoever to the passengers. As CEO of our firm, I talked with the manager of customer service at NCL and their reasoning was -- if any credit was given to anyone, they would have to give it to all. So they basically held passengers on the ship, sort of as hostage, at sea so they could make additional revenue rather than allowing them to go ashore and shop or explore on their own since NCL had already cancelled the shore excursions. If you have to explore the Hawaiian Islands on a cruise, unfortunately there aren't many other alternatives. But be prepared -- it's not going to be the "How can we help you?" attitude that you've received on other cruise lines.
