We got on board early with no problems then went right to the
Pink Champagne lounge to book our dinners. We tried all the restaurants and like
them all. The service was good and the food better than we have had on most or
our cruises. The décor in the dinning rooms are beautiful and our favorite was
the Lazy J steak house. The Bistro was really special but it is fine dinning and
takes at least 21/2 hours so don’t go if you are in a hurry. I also think this
is not a place for small children. I was impressed by the buffet set up for just
the kids in the Aloha cafe.
We were upgraded to a balcony cabin and it was small but well laid out and we felt it compared to the other cabins on other cruise lines. Our cabin was keep clean and bed turned down every night.
We loved the ports and rented a car on each Island. We didn’t take any excursions so I can’t comment on them but we enjoyed exploring on our own. One thing we learned is that Thrifty car rental cannot handle the business they are getting. Everyone has heard on line that it is the place to rent a car and so they have these long lines while the others were open and getting people into their vehicles with no wait. I would try someone else next time.
Entertainment on the ship is limited and we only went to one show which was not very good. The band for late night dancing was good but we were pretty tired after our days in port so only went out three of the nights. The staff was wonderful to us. Very polite and went out of their way to make us happy. I felt it was the best crew we have ever sailed with.
We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village before and after the
cruise and had a good experience.
All in all we felt we got a great deal for our money and can’t wait to sail on
the Pride of Hawaii with our family.
