This was our first cruise and we were
delighted! I had read several reviews of the Norwegian Sea which made it sound
old and second rate. It was neither. We found our room to be larger than we
expected and quite nicely appointed with plenty of space to hang items. The
shower is quite small, but worked well. The cabin stewards were wonderful. They
took care of our room with turndown service, refilling the ice bucket etc. They
even checked in on my husband when he was ill (due to rough seas)!
We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The dining rooms were excellent as well as Le
Bistro. It was definitely worth the extra $10 for Filet Mignon and Chocolate
fondue!
The big disappointment was that we were unable to stop in Grand Cayman due to
poor weather and rough seas. We had never been there and were looking forward to
it. Oh well, maybe next time.
Because we were turned away in Grand Cayman we had extra time in Cozumel. We
still didn't get a break with the weather but had a great time shopping in town.
We found some great deals on beautiful silver jewelry.
We only tried the hot tub once and the pools seemed to be filled and then
drained over and over again. Once we sat on deck and watched the waves in the
pool. They were about 10 feet high!
Overall, we had bad weather but an excellent experience and will cruise again
soon.
