Itinerary: Rome to Venice

I've just returned from a 12 day cruise on the Insignia. Our experience was just wonderful, as noted.

The ship is gorgeous, and impeccably clean. The staff were all so professional, and yet very friendly, many remembering my name, and certain likes (ie, capuccino, which is included complimentary, or camomile tea after dinner). The maitre'd of the Grand Dining Room went out of his way to seat us in our favorite waiters' station most evenings, and the specialty restaurants, The Polo Grill and Toscana had incredibly innovative menus.

The itinerary was just perfect, each day we were in a beautiful port, with many different types of excursions and freestyle touring that we found very easy to maneuver. I would rate this cruise 4.99.

My only comment/suggestion would be that the number of 'tenders' (most days) did get a little tedious, and time consuming. Fortunately, most of our days were quite long, so that the stays were not compromised with the tendering.

Our excursion to Pompeii was just perfect, structured in a not-so-long stay which in the summer heat and crowds was just perfect, coupled with a really wonderful guide, it made for a great day.
