This is my 4th Princess cruise, and my 7th overall (Royal Caribbean once, Disney short cruise twice). This was for just my high school-aged daughter and myself. We booked through a local travel agent, who matched the price I had been quoted by a large internet agency. Nice to have an actual name, place to go, etc. if necessary.

We took the least expensive inside cabin I could book. We didn't stay in there much but they have always been quiet and comfortable. There was no view though. We arrived to the departure terminal in Brooklyn via Amtrak and a $40 cab ride from Penn Station. We are from way, way upstate NY.

Embarkation was crowded and busy, but efficient and it proceeded fast! I'd say we were on board within 20-25 minutes of getting out of the cab.

The food we ate was great and we ate as many meals as possible in the main dining room. I loved the outdoor waffle area for breakfast too.

Our cabin was small but clean and bright with lots of storage. It was an inside cabin.

The shows on-board were good for the most part. Nightlife was not going on much, since it was an older crowd.

One thing I can recommend is to see the mansions in Newport! They are like castles but here in the U.S.

I traveled with just my 18 year old daughter. We liked it a lot and enjoyed the ports. It is a fairly low key cruise, being an older crowd and not a party atmosphere. The food was very good, I don't know how they put on such good meals for so many people.
