Ship: Caribbean Princess
Itinerary: Western Caribbean
I must tell you that I was disappointed initially that we did not cruise to the
Eastern Carribean which was my chosen itinerary, and I was annoyed that we
weren’t told until we were already inside the check in terminal, but after I
thought about it I realized things could be a whole lot worse, particularly in
hurricane season!
I’m also glad I had nothing to compare the cruise to, because one of the most
upsetting things to me about the trip was all the people who had taken multiple
cruises griping about how horrible things were.
I thought our cabin steward went above and beyond the call of duty, and after 2
days knew exactly how we liked things, and had those things readily available to
us. He gets an A+ in my book.
I enjoyed the anytime dining, and the opportunity to meet different people every
night. The food quality was ok, I didn’t think it was outstanding.
This ship is huge, and there is always something going on. I enjoyed having an
outside stateroom with balcony very much as my objective was to get lots of
rest. However, I did not enjoy the people above me throwing cigarette butts on
our balcony and I did not enjoy the person who spit on my feet while I was
lounging. There were plenty of things to do and I did enjoy the shows,
particularly a comedian named SARGE. I think even though the shows were very
high energy shows, they never really rose above high school production level.
I thought the staff did a great job on the extra days of the trip due to
hurricane Frances, the extra time in Cozumel was fantastic, free internet and
phone service were a nice touch.
I liked this ship but I’ll try a different one the next time just for variety
sake and I’d like to try a smaller ship, but I would go on this one again too.
