This was our first cruise. Overall we enjoyed the cruise experience. However, we are greatly disturbed by the concern of princess employees for our belongings. We carried my laptop as carry on luggage from home to the arrival at the dock. At that time we were told by an individual, with princess on his uniform, to just put our carry on luggage with the other bags. We informed him that this was carry on and we would take it with us. He said again, more sternly, just put it with the others. Not knowing any different, we followed his instructions.

After leaving port, i attempted to contact our family on the laptop and discovered it had be crushed out of shape and the screen had a very large black area in the upper top left corner of the screen. The damage resulted in my having to pay the cost of using onboard computers which were very slow and very expensive.

I brought this to the attention of customer service and filled out a damage claim. After arriving home I contacted princess to follow up with the claim and was told to contact my homeowner's insurance company to see if they would cover the cost. They would not so after contacting princess again, I was told to fill out another claim form and submit, with pictures to their office in California. Long story short, the claim was denied and the reason stated by princess was the personal on the docks are not princess employees, but are contracted by them to handle the baggage on the dock and move it to the ship. Doesn't that make them princess employees?

The cost of the laptop is not the issue. But I feel princess does not have the passengers interests at a very high importance level.

We will never cruise with princess again. Our money will not make a difference to them, as others will still choose their cruise line. We will do our best to tell any and all not to choose princess.

Average. Some good, some not so. I feel a two week cruise should have a different menu for the second week.


Didn't use them, just enjoyed the leisure time.
