I boarded the Crown Princess on November 20th for Eastern Med ports to Venice and a transatlantic voyage back to Galveston, arriving December 22nd. I've cruised extensively (over 500 days in the last ten years) but this was my initial cruise on Princess. This 32 day cruise was the worst sailing I've ever experienced by far for the following reasons! There was a massive outbreak of the norovirus onboard because of unsanitary conditions and the lack of preventive measures the first 14 days of the voyage. In addition, the service was horrible with most crew often more concerned with socializing and talking among themselves than providing service to passengers. Plus unauthorized billings were posted to my account and I spent several days correcting the mistakes. We were also "held hostage" in the dining room for over two hours when required to process through customs in Florida without any explanation from Princess. The food selection in the buffet was minimal and often cold and unappealing. If you are considering booking a cruise on this ship, I would recommend you reconsider and focus on many other ships that deliver the type of services and safety appropriate for the fees you pay!
