We were impressed by the ship. It is a new vessel and has all of the things that you would expect. The food was excellent but many of the staff were a little cool and aloof. Service was good but 'unsmiling'. Beware, the cost of drinks were extortionate at around 8USD each and had an automatic 15% gratuity added to every bill. There is also a daily gratuity of 10.50 USD charged to every one aboard and charged to your account each day.. You can opt out of this if you wish and tip those from whom you get the best service. Overall, it wasn't much fun and expensive. We had far more enjoyment, better entertainment and cheaper drinks when we cruised with 3 star cruise lines.

The food was excellent, we had breakfast and Lunch each day in the buffet and a 4 course dinner each evening in our allocated dining room. There was a tremendous variety of freshly prepared good quality food and an interesting and varied menu each evening.

We had a cabin on the Plaza deck 5 with a sea view. Compared with previous cruises with a lower star rating, It was very small and was equipped with an additional 2 foldaway bunks above the double bed. It was almost impossible to get out of bed without bumping your head, my wife had a number of bruises on her head by the end of the cruise! The wardrobe was a good size but the shower room was also very small. As we were only a little way above the waterline it got noisy when the sea was a little rough. The only way to look out of the window was by kneeling on the bed.

The activities were mainly aimed at passengers older than us (there were a great many). Entertainment was very poor compared with other cruise lines, whilst they were enthusiastic the singers, dancers and groups were of a low standard which was surprising in view of the cost of the cruise. The theatre is a 'cinema' style arrangement where everyone in a row had to stand when people moved around We were very disappointed with this aspect of the cruise particularly as little of the entertainment was timed to start at the end of each of the 2 sittings for dinner.

The excursions were very expensive and most could be purchased ashore for half of the price, which we did. We were at many of the key sights at the same time as the 'official' excursions. My advice is to speak to several of the tour company's ashore, there are many stood by the dock gates, and choose the one that you feel comfortable with.
