We just returned home from our seventh cruise. This is the second on princess.
We went on the Golden Princess several years ago and it was Grand. This years cruise on the Grand princess was quite a different tale. First day out princess Cay island was not landed due to incliment weather day two landed in costa maya on opposite side of the island due to high winds. Terrible time with crowds and taxis that treated each member as cattle. Cost was supposed to be $4.00 each way each, but cabbies never had change...Day four Cozomel arrived 4 hours late cutting our day trips in half. Cruise ship it self was rough at least. P Needed Painting, tiles up off floor, rust all over steel on balconys, Electricity to room lost several times a day. Hot tubs not working...Ship needed entire overhaul. To give us a real slap in the face the princess line decided to give each cabin a $ 15.00 credit. We just missed 3-4 days of a cruise and we get $15.00...We also had a 18-19 year old youth next door to us who managed to wake us up out of a sound sleep 6 of our 7 days onboard. Security always got there after I called, but did nothing to stop the problem...I was also very disappointed in the food. Especially the mid night buffet. There was NO mid nite buffet. There was a banana fosters cart adjacent to the buffet which was the same basically all week, but no Royal caribbean buffet. I must say by day 5 of 7 the food was getting better at dinner time. Either I was extremely famished or they actually listened and prepared food to our order...Over all I would NOT recommend the Grand Princess. I am going back to Royal Caribbean... Carnival hasn't ruined them yet.....
