I recently read a review of this particular cruise by a fellow cruiser, Mr. Dave
Thompson. I have to say, out of all the cruises I have been on, which include,
Premier, NCL, Royal Caribean, Celebrity, etc., this cruise was one of my
favorites.
I have to disagree with Mr. Thompson regarding our cruise director, David Cole.
I thought he was fantastic! Both Mr. Cole and the assistant cruise director,
although not being shipmates for long, did an amazing job. I am sorry that Mr.
Thompson felt that Mr. Cole was not a professional, however, I do not feel you
can blame the cruise director for inadequate seating. Mr. Cole is right, contact
Princess directly or here is a suggestion, make sure you get there early!
The only criticisms that I would have about the whole experience is that our
table waiter and our cabin stewart was not the best that I have experienced. It
was our waiters very last week working for the line, and he simply did not care.
We found our cabin stewart did not go the extra distance for use even after
receiving an additional gratuity at the being of the cruise. Maybe that was our
mistake. We found that if we were not out of our room by a 9:00 a.m., we would
receive a phone call with no one on the line. After this happen twice, we
figured out it was our cabin stewart trying to get us out of the room to clean.
That's the luck of the draw. These two factors would not, however, discourage me
from taking another cruise with princess.
The food was great, entertainment wonderful - especially one of the comedians;
the spa phenomenal; and the Cruise Director one of the best.
This was a honeymoon voyage for my husband and myself and we are taking another
Princess Cruise in June on the new Crown Princess, where we will celebrate my
parents 50th anniversary. I cannot think of a better place to celebrate!! I am
truly hoping that Mr. Cole has been reassigned to this ship.
