Itinerary: Alaska
Our first cruise and overall an excellent experience. The ship is brand new. We
think we
were on their fourth cruise and there were no bugs evident.
Food: Excellent. We chose “Personal Choice” dining as opposed to fixed
time and
assigned seating; which was fine except you we had difficulty making
reservations
between 6 and 8 PM. Two more restaurants with entertainment; Cajun and Italian.
We
would have preferred Polynesian vs. Cajun. Twenty four hour cafeteria with
excellent
variety.
Entertainment: Outstanding! Two major shows every night plus. Broadway
quality
dancing.
Crew: Very friendly and competent.
Atmosphere: Here a string quartet, there a cocktail pianist or quiet
guitar: Relaxed and
elegant at the same time.
Accommodations: An outside cabin with a balcony is a must. Everything
clean and neat.
Shore Excursions: Well organized. Maybe 10% overpriced.
Mechanical: We had excellent weather so the stabilization systems were
never challenged.
Ways to improve: 1. At one port, the walk to the tour bus was way too
long.
2. The lady who did “critter” (whale, seal etc.) spotting didn’t always give
complete
instructions such as Port side at 2 o’clock 20 yards from shore.
