The original "Love Boat", Pacific Princess is probably the best-known cruise ship in the world. Built in Germany in 1971, she is a small ship by today's standards. Unfortunately, Princess has decided to retire this legendary vessel in 2002.

Excerpts from Princess' Website about the Pacific Princess Best recognized worldwide for its starring role in television's long-running series "The Love Boat," Pacific Princess features a timeless design quality, with the interior workmanship and sleek look of the ocean liners of yesteryear. The intimate five-star, 640-passenger vessel is considered innovative and modern when compared to most ships of its day. At 20,000 tons with a space ratio of 33, Pacific Princess is comfortably intimate in size, and all public areas are within easy reach of any point on the ship. In addition, it boasts luxurious and spacious lounges with floor-to-ceiling windows for dramatic ocean views. In recent years, Pacific Princess has received several multimillion dollar facelifts, which has included dramatic enhancements to public areas and passenger accommodations, as well as updates to the operational and technical systems. Renovations have included major modifications in the show lounge, including a tiered floor, banquette seating, a larger dance floor and a new sound and lighting system; new carpeting, draperies, furnishings and artwork throughout the ship; a remodeled gymnasium with new equipment; a new casino and video arcade.
