Excerpts from Princess' Website
about the Royal Princess

One of the most innovative ships ever introduced, the five-star Royal Princess set a new standard in luxury cruising when it debuted in 1984.

The 45,000-ton superstructure, which even by today's design standards is considered ahead of its time, represents one-of-a-kind technology and was the first ship to feature all outside cabins.

Royal Princess also caused a stir when it was introduced, as it was christened by Princess Diana, Her Royal Highness, the Princess of Wales.

The concept for the ship's interior design, to create a simple, yet elegant atmosphere, was developed by Hirsch/Bedner, Los Angeles-based design consultants specializing in passenger ship and resort hotel interior design.
