My wife and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and this was our first cruise. We loved everything about it. It was an absolutely spectacular experience.

The food was very very good. We ate mostly at the buffet-style Horizon Court and Cafe Caribe. You go through the first time and sample everything that looks good. Then for your second trip you load up on anything that was exceptional. Everything we had was good and there were always a few things that were exceptional. We thought it was pretty amazing when you consider how much food they have to prepare.

The stateroom was roomy enough. It was neat, clean and well designed. The shower was nice. The bed was comfortable. The balcony was also nice although we didn't use it very much.

We liked the movies under the stars and we were surprised that we were able to get such nice seats for Avatar (it wasn't the 3-d version, though) even though we showed up only about 20 minutes prior to the start of the movie. We also loved the singer, Claude Eric. There was a multi-media play Once Upon A Dream that was pretty good too. The fitness spa was very nice. The casino was nice. I played video poker. I put a $20 bill in the machine and I was stuck there for almost 2 hours until the money was gone. There were no staff roaming the machines for assistance. The internet was 75 cents per minute and at times it was very slow. One day I went to check email and after 10 minutes I gave up. I got them to take that charge off the bill and they were very nice about that.

We did all the excursion on our own. It was much cheaper and much more of an adventure. In Naples we returned to the ship at almost 7pm (the all-aboard time was 6:30pm) just as they were taking away the gang plank. People on the balcony were shouting Hurry! and then cheering/applauding when they saw that we barely made it. If you're the adventurous type, then you can do it. You'll save money and have a great time. But you do have to do a lot of research before you go.

We had a wonderful time. The weather was fantastic, warm but not too hot. We never got rained on. We saw so many unforgettable places. My wife gets nauseous veery easily, but only one time did she get a bit queasy. If your cruise includes Venice, then make sure you are on one of the promenade decks during the sail-in. They played some classic Italian opera music. It was not-to-be-missed.

We love Princess and the lovely Ruby.
