This was one of the worse cruises I had ever been on. I still have a hard time believing that Princess doesn't care how there Travel agents perceive them. After completing all my courses on Princess I booked my Graduation cruise on the Ruby. As my wife and I walked down the gangway I made a comment to her to be prepared to be amazed. Boy was I surprised for the week ahead held. This was NOTHING LIKE WE HAD PLANNED and fell extremely short of all teachings within there Polar Academy.

The food, was just OK, nothing spectacular. Orange Juice was room temperature when I asked if it was cold I was told to feel the carafe. When I complained about it being warm, I was told this is it. No one offered me even a piece of ice to put in it. Had Egg Florentine one morning of the buffet. The muffin was so hard I couldn't cut through it with my knife. Called the waiter over he called his supervisor over and I was told no one else complained. Their idea of Hash Browns! Deep fried mash potato patty. Most dinners in the main dining room were either cold or under cooked. I don't drink so I bought the coke pass for the week. The first night in the Da Vinci Dining Room waiter came over asked for our drink orders. When I asked for a diet coke and showed him my card I was told I had to wait until he took care of the paying customers first.

The staterooms were well maintained average in square footage when compared with the other cruise lines we've been on. We had an inside cabin. However the design and layout of the room made it smaller and took away form the square footage. Cabin service was excellent was a bit disappointed there was no towel animals at night.

Activities were just a s good as on any other ship we have been on.

Excursions were pricey for what you got.

Don't expect GREAT customer service. At best it's far below the average. Towards the end of the trip wife and I decided to place some cash on our tab. After doing so we went to the lounge that night and ordered some wine. The waiter told us my ship account had been closed. We went to customer service and were told that they had been trying to get a hold of us all week because there was credit card on file. The customer service person did not want to listen that we had no such problems all week long and yes there was a credit card on file. She insisted we were wrong and she was going off duty and we had to wait for here supervisor to come on to proceed any further. Deciding not to wait and being upset the with the way this was being handled we headed for the internet cafe and went online to our bank and printed out a statement showing that they had been charging our credit card (the one they claimed was not on file) all week long. So up to customer service we went showed them the printout and at that time we were told there was a mistake. REALLY! Needless to say this cruise was nothing like what we had expected from Princess. And being a travel agent I decided to send there Customer Relations Dept a detailed letter on my experience. I did hear back from them and was basically told no one else complained. And they had put my comments on file. Imagine I'm a Travel Agent and got treated in this manor. Imagine a regular traveler. Needless to say I will no longer be selling or recommending Princess Cruiselines.
