I have never wrote a review before but wanted to let travelers know about the poor customer service of Princess. We were charged a fuel surcharge and inquired about a refund upon return since fuel was about $40 per gallon. Princess gave us several different explanations about this and finally told us that fuel had to be less than $75 for the 30 days before the cruise. When we asked on which days fuel was not below $75, we never got an answer. One rep told us that fuel was $.05 over on one day but didn't tell us which day. Any corporation that doesn't have 1) Specific written policies 2) data to back up their policy 3) fair and equitable policies is a corporation that is trying to cover something up. As a business person, I am appaled at their customer service. I have traveled on Princess for several cruises but will strongly consider another option next time we cruise. It is sad that what was a nice cruise has turned into something disappointing because a corporation is trying to cheat the customers that keep them in business. Food was generally fair to good. Fair the 1st 3 days and then actually pretty good the last 3 days. Surprised at the improvement. We had a mini suite. Room was nice and balcony was very large. Nice area to relax and enjoy the ocean. Saw some dolphins and wife saw a whale once. Onboard activities were a little weak. No movie theater so movies were shown in one of the bars. Not a good venue. Buyer beware of fuel surcharges.
