Cruise Line: Princess
Ship: Sapphire
Sailing Date: October 12th, 2004
Itinerary: Mexican Riviera
This is my first cruise and
I was traveling alone. I live in the Bay area and the SF to SF roundtrip
itinerary was perfect. I booked an inside cabin four weeks before sailing
and was upgraded to an awesome ocean view cabin when i checked in.
Cabin :
The cabin was great, bigger than what I thought it might be. The Sapphire
is a new ship and everything was just clean! My shower was cleaned twice a
day, who could complain?
Food:
Food at the Horizon Court Buffet was ok. The 4 dining room selections were
good but not amazing. The sorbets which they made on the ship daily
however was just awesome! Sabatini's was great, ate there twice during the
trip.
Spa :
The spa was just awesome! I spent most of my time there getting massages
and laying on the thermal bed. The fitness center next to gym was nice too
although you had to pay extra for yoga and pilates.
Service : I thought the service was great overall. From barternders, waiters and
other staff, they were all friendly and willing to do something extra for
me. I'm hoping it's not because I'm single and i'm travelling alone.
Entertainment :
I'm a little disappointed on the entertainment on board geared for people
my age. The targeted audience for the performance were for older guests.
We had a comedian/juggler one night and i felt like I was visiting a
nursing home. Almost all guest participation events were for older guests
(no offense meant). There's almost no one at the Skywalker (disco) except
for one formal night.
Overall :
I had a great time. It was very relaxing, if I wasn't getting a massage, I
was taking a nap by the pool. I have no other cruises to compare this too
but I'm definitely hooked! My next trip is on April 27th on the Coral
Princess from Ft. Lauderdale to SF , a friend of mine and I booked a
mini-suite.
Happy Sailing! E-mail me if you want other details or want pictures.
