This cruise was close to the best one we have ever been on. Everything went perfectly from embarkation to disembarkation. The service was excellent in all bars and lounges. Service was up to our expectations and then some. Our room steward, Benjamin, was awesome.

The food in the International dining room was wonderful - absolutely no complaints. The burgers, pizza and hot dogs by the pool were very good. The desserts were yummy. The Horizon Court buffet was fair, but the coffee there was undrinkable.

Our stateroom was comfortable, clean and had enough room for all our stuff. We had a balcony and loved it. Our steward outdid himself to clean up after us (we're messy).

The entertainment was scheduled a bit differently than we were used to, but we got to see almost everything we wanted to. We went to wine tastings, ranger talks, and shows. They were all good.

The glacier landing by helicopter in Juneau was stunning - no words suffice to express the beauty, the grandeur, the vastness of Mendenhall glacier. It is a don't miss; however, it isn't cheap. If you are on a budget you might take another method of transportation to the glacier.

Before our cruise, we did a cruisetour to Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge (2 nights) and one night at Denali Princess Lodge. The lodges were nice and the weather was mostly sunny, very little rain. The bus ride to McKinley from Anchorage was 3.5 hours. From McKinley to Denali took 2.5 hours After Denali we took the train to Whittier (a ten-hour ride) which was way too long to be on a train going an average of 30 mph. We did see wildlife (bears, moose, eagles) but I wish they could have sped up a bit. I don't want to ride on a bus or train for a very long time.

The cruise was nearly perfect. When we got to the airport in Vancouver Saturday to return home we were informed that our luggage would not be making the trip with us, that Princess would FedEx it to us. We got our luggage the following Wednesday. Other than that, it was a great cruise.
