Great cruise, great service. Food was very good. Anytime-Dining was a formidable option. After reading several negative reviews posted, and though this was not my best cruise ever, I feel the need to speak up and set the record straight. I feel sorry for those passengers who may have had a bad experience. They are either extremely difficult, ugly or unpleasant people (or all of the above) since my experience with Princess has always been great.

The main reason I love Princess is because of the Anytime Dining. Love to be able to eat at my own time and with whomever I want. Needless to say, I hate the fixed time dining (cattle option in my book). I have never (9 cruises on Princess so far) had to wait in line (I am a late eater and that might be working on my favor). The service has usually been very good, and once I find a table and wait staff I really like (usually by the second or third night) I stick to it and then I am treated like a king (they know they will be tipped well at the end). You can reserve the table for the rest of the cruise if you want to be safe, but I never have done so officially, I just tell the wait staff that I will be coming back the next day (and the rest) at around that time and they will save the table for us. The quality of the food is usually very good.

A cabin is a cabin is a cabin. Those of you who complain about size, upgrade and go to a mini suite. Cleaning service has always been excellent! Bedding and mattress very comfortable, then again, I weigh less than 150 pounds, so for those of you who have complained about the mattress, hit the gym and skip the buffet.

This is the only thing I could complain about on this particular cruise. Usually, on-board activities are many and varied, particularly on the Lido deck, and the background music is good. But on this trip (30 days from San Francisco to Sydney) it was lacking. Very low music by the pool, little selection on Movies under the stars, etc. It got a bit better once we complained, so at least they did react.

Visit the Volcanoes in Hawaii (including Molokini, which is underwater). Bora Bora shark feeding a must. Rent a go-cart in Moorea.

Cannot say enough good things about the ship and the service, and about Princess overall. Try the Specialty restaurants for an unforgettable culinary experience, but don't refuse the pizza by the pool either. It is all good. This is a great 30 day cruise. Once we disembarked in Sydney, we saw the ship leave for LA, and we wished we could be back on it. Once we got back home, we booked 4 cruises for February and March 2010, one after the other for a total of 58 cruising days (32 days on the Star from Santiago to Fort Lauderdale). That really tells you how good it was.
