This was my first cruise and I expected to be blown away with the ship, the service and the food but was disappointed on all accounts. The ship itself was nothing to WOW over, the food for the most part was mediocre and a few nights it was undercooked to the point that I didn’t eat it. The buffet was anything but appealing, I did eat some of the fruit. Everybody told me that I would gain at least 5 to 10 lbs., well I came back the same weight as when I left, probably because of the poor quality of the food and we walked the steps so much because it took FOREVER to catch a elevator.

I spent the extra money for a suite with a balcony but the balcony jetted so far out from the boat that there was absolutely no privacy at ALL. The whole ship could look right down on us and I was literally afraid that someone would drop something on my head. It wasn’t enjoyable to sit on the balcony, what a BIG disappointment that was!!!!

There were only a couple of stores aboard to shop in and they were small and severely limited to what you could purchase, that they weren’t even worth the time.

My steward was anything but attentive, I saw him about two times during my 7 night stay, really 6 ½ night cruise because the last night they closed everything really early…..except for the bars….go figure, you pay for that!

Getting on the ship in Fort Lauderdale was a nightmare, they huddled us in the airport for about 2 hours and then the bus transportation was so unorganized it was almost funny. We reached the ship and another 2 ½ hours standing in line to get on the ship……if it wasn’t already paid for I would of left!

On the upside my wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary while onboard (which they didn’t even acknowledge) and the weather was great!! The seas were mostly calm and the cigars were good, of course the cigar lounge was always full of people smoking cigarettes and watching sports on TV so I smoked mostly on my balcony with the rest of the boat as my company.

I would love to go on another cruise but definitely with another cruise line, my wife went before on Royal Caribbean and loved the boat, food and service, that’s what I get for not listening to the wife. From now on she has my full attention………well until next year…………Happy Cruising and Happy Holidays!!!
