Itinerary: Barcelona Mediterranean Barcelona

We boarded the Brilliance of the Seas for a 12-Night roundtrip Mediterranean cruise on 8/10/08 from Barcelona. The entertainment and activities were well planned and offered something for different age groups and interests. Food served at the Minstrel at dinner was good and service excellent. The buffet food at the Windjammer was OK but the service staff there could do with some training in courtesy. Perhaps they had less initiative because they did not expect to get as much gratuities as the Minstrel dinner waiting staff. The lack of a laundry room was a definite minus. An earlier review mentioned that the ship was not clean but generally my husband and I found the ship well maintained and clean. The only exception were the passageways to the cabins where worn and stained carpeting needed replacing.

The Windjammer food was pretty pedestrian. Perhaps too much quantity rather than quality. The staff there reminded us of university canteen days. Really disappointing service and manners.

Very comfortable and well maintained.

Very good.

The excursion to Pompeii is a must!

Generally very enjoyable.
