I want to say that my family of 4 had the most Awesome time on Empress of the
Sea. I was very concerned after reading others reviews. Where shall I start.
Boarding was a breeze . We were able to board at 11:30. It was very quick and
efficient. Yes the ship is older but I thought it was in pretty good shape very
easy to manage. Because it is a smaller ship it was very easy to become familiar
with the set up and feel at home right away. As I said we were a family of 4
traveling my husband and myself and our two boys 5 & 11. The kids program
Adventure Ocean was out standing. The staff was fabulous . Both of my boys could
not wait to get to there kid zone and have fun. We ate in the main dinning area
at the 6:00pm seating @ table 101. The waiter ,the assistant waiter, and the
head waiter were Great. They catered to our every need and want. They new my
youngest son liked watermelon so before we even got to the table his watermelon
was there. The assistant waiter did magic tricks for us and would do silly thing
with the napkins to entertain the boys. The shows on the ship were top notch. We
really enjoyed them. We really enjoyed key west . We took the trolley train ride
very informative. We stop and had frozen key lime pie on a stick dipped in
chocolate. This is a must have. In Grand Cayman we booked a island tour that
took us to Hell and to the turtle farm. Our guide did not impress us but we
really enjoyed the turtle farm . You get to actually pick up the turtles. It was
really cool. My whole family enjoyed it. Now back to the ship. We would
absolutely go back on the Empress. I can only think of 2 thing that would be
considered negative. The rooms are very small but you are hardly in them but to
sleep. And in some inside areas of the ship people are aloud to smoke not just
cigarettes but cigars. All in all I would give the Empress of the Seas an A. We
really enjoyed the smaller ship experience. It was GREAT.
