Excellent cruise experience!!! This was our second cruise -- first time with Carnival Fantasy in 2001. No complaints about first cruise, but Royal Caribbean elevated the cruise vacation to a whole new level. Explorer of the Seas was the perfect ship on which to spend seven days of your life. There are endless choices of activities, entertainment, and FOOD!!! The service we received on this ship was first rate all the way. Since the ship is enormous, it is easy to find places of privacy -- even with 4000 people on board.
Labadee, the first stop on our itinerary, was fun, but our least favorite port of call. The beaches are nice, but the local people in the market were too pushy. Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the second port, was better. However, the locals in the markets were also too pushy. Dunn's River Falls is an exciting climb, but somewhat dangerous. Closed-toe aqua shoes are a MUST for climbing the falls. Grand Cayman, the third port of call, was a beautiful, clean, and comfortably safe island paradise. The local people we encountered were friendly and helpful without being pushy. The final port of call was Cozumel, Mexico. We had our best shore excursion here -- "Catch the Wave Snorkel Safari". The crew was friendly; lunch on the boat was good; the snorkeling was great; and there was an open bar - all for one reasonable price.
All things considered, I can't imagine a better vacation than what I just experienced. I look forward to my next cruise with Royal Caribbean with great anticipation.
