Itinerary: Western Caribbean

This was our second cruise with royal Caribbean, the first was the Independence of the seas and now Freedom of the seas, they are both almost identical ships with the freedom being slightly bigger, we booked it through Thomas Cook Cruises who sent us no information, tickets or passes for the bus transfers so from the off we had a struggle. When in the bars on board mostly in Boleros I paid cash for all drinks plus a tip, after 5 days I checked my account on the information channel on the stateroom TV and found that I was being charged again for all drinks. When I spoke to the ship's management representative he was quite rude, and told me that it was my fault as no cash is accepted at all on board. When I showed him all the bar's receipts none of them were signed by me, and the two barmen accepted the cash and never asked me to sign any receipt. He then told me they assumed the cash was a tip. but we both knew that the barman realised I never knew the rules and they took advantage of it and so I was overcharged $160 dollars. This spoilt the rest of the holiday and would think twice about going Royal Caribbean again. Thomas Cook is partly to blame so we will not travel through them again

Main restaurant food was very good and well presented. The waiters were efficient, helpful and friendly,

Cleanliness in the stateroom was very good. Beds were very comfortable.

Especially good for families with children of all ages. Lots of interesting things to do.

We only went on one excursion to climb the Dunns Falls in Jamaica which was good and well worth the effort.

All in all a great trip which was spoilt by the two dodgy barman in Boleros and made even worse by the management's attitude to it,
