Itinerary: eastern carribean

This was my fifth cruise and was looking forward to going to eastern carribean. This cruise was the most disappointing one out of all five; I've taken all five cruises with Royal Carribean, and all the previous four had been above average experiences in all aspects. For example: the pools were closed every night at 8 pm. even though the signs at the pool read they are open from 6am to 12 midnight. When I asked the pool attendants about keeping the pools open until 12 like the signs state, they just blew me off. When I needed information from guest services, I spoke to a very rude person by the name of Sonia-she was very nasty and bad attitude.

Food in dining room average to not that great; however, service was excellent; In the windjammer, food quality was good during breakfast, lunch, and during afternoon tea, but below average at dinner. There was a large variety of items to choose from during breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. Staff did not keep the tables very clean; I saw some of the staff only half wiping down tables after people were done with their meals; the carpet never looked swept. Some staff unaccomadating and rude.

Had a balcony state room which was kept clean; attendants were friendlly and accomadating.

Large variety of activities. But pools closed often and early in the evening. Asked guest relations why this was so, and I was told to basically deal with it.

Tried to obtain information and ask questions about tours-excursions staff would never answer any of my questions about any tours.

I enjoyed sailing to the eastern carribean and visiting Coco Cay, St. Thomas, and St. Marten. The stateroom was clean and most of the food was good, but overall I didn't like attitude of the staff/crew; they were unfriendly, not helpful, and some were impolite-I took a cruise to relax and enjoy time with my family in a beautiful place of the world, and I found that dealing with some of the staff made it hard to enjoy the cruise. I will probably visit the eastern carribean again and use RC, but not the Freedom of the Seas.
