Royal Caribbean 7-night cruise through the Mexican Riviera on the Grandeur of the Seas was excellent! Our group included my husband & myself, our two children ages 2 & 4, and our dads. Everything went very smoothly from the time we entered the terminal at San Diego to our return. The ship was, in fact, very "Grand" indeed with lots of glass and beautiful artwork. The staff was absolutely wonderful from the cabin attendant to our server. We never wanted for anything. Our kids were welcomed with open arms!! They had the best time of all. Our 4 year old wanted to spend most of her time at the Ocean Explorer club where they did many activities including face painting, singing & dancing, games, etc. She met two other little girls (who also sat at our dinner table) & we plan to stay in touch. The children's center staff was excellent all with degrees in child dev. or recreation. Children must be 3 years of age or older and must be potty trained in order to participate in the program. Our 2 year old was not able to use the facility but was content to spend his time running about the ship, swimming in the kiddy pool or playing games. The food was great at all of the restaurants. Again, the kids were well taken care of with a full kids menu at dinner. Our waiter discovered that my daughter loves grapes and always had a fresh bowl of grapes waiting for her each night. There is also a "burger stand" with pizza, hot dogs, burgers, and french fries. Entertainment was pretty good to outstanding, depending on the night. The comedians were the best. One of the highlights of the trip was watching a group of dolphins jumping from the wake of the ship and surfing along. Our children loved it. Of all the ports, we enjoyed Puerto Vallarta best. Lots of great shopping and lovely beaches. Mazatlan had some good shopping as well & we were able to have our laundry done there (no coin operated laundry on the ship -- they will do your laundry but it's very expensive). Our huge two loads of laundry were washed, dried, and neatly sorted, folded, and wrapped in plastic for $11.00). Incredible. We would definitely cruise with Royal Caribbean again & were very pleased with everything! I look forward to taking another cruise with the family in the future.
