Our cruise was set to visit Bermuda. We arrived at Baltimore on the 5th. It was
a dreary day and the ship was large and overwhelming in the port. We boarded and
went to the Windjammer to wait for our rooms and to relax and eat. We toured the
ship and were immediately pleased with our choice. The most memorable part of
the trip for me was dinnertime. Our waiter was Habib El Abed, he was just like
one of our family by the 2nd night. He made dinner worthwhile each night. He
knew all our names, knew when we would be calling for room service at 4am and
even had food ready to come to our rooms. He even invited us to his home in
Tunisia to visit him on his vacations. I think we made his work more fun, as he
made our trip more memorable. I cannot forget Hernando the bartender in the
Schooner Bar. I met him on the 1st night, had a 20 minute conversation with him
and for the next 4 nights when I did not show to the Schooner Bar he always
seemed to ask where I was. Not just myself but Hernando asked about each person
in my group by name when they did not show to the bar. People like Hernando and
Habib make the cruise stand out in my mind.
