My son and I were looking forward to joining the Independance again after our cruise on her last year. Initially everything seemed the same but as the days passed it became apparent that standards had dropped immensely. The ice shows were exactly the same as last year so there was no point even going to them. The availability of ice skating for adults was virtually nil and seemed to be more geared for the children. The entertainment in the theatre was very similar to last year (we saw "Elton John" and the "Beatles" ) and I felt that putting on a film that had actually been on the ships television two days before was scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The issue of people still putting towels and books on sunbeds and going off for lunch etc when there is a sign advising this is not allowed needs to be looked into - on quite a few occasions I had to sit in the shade looking at sunbeds that had been vacant for up to two hours but there were no members of staff patrolling and removing peoples belongings to free these sunbeds for other people waiting. There were a lot of unrully children running about all over the ship and my son who is 16 was blamed on one occasion for hurting one of these children but only for another passenger speaking on his behalf and telling the officer he was nowhere near this child he was just about to have all of his details logged by the officer. We have two cruises booked for next year and hope that we have better experiences on board the Brilliance and the Oasis.

My son and I booked the coach excursion to Seville and I think that 60 dollars each is far too much for a trip that lasts an hour and a half each way
