Having read quite a few negative comments about this ship I wasn't expecting too much. However, the cruise turned out to be excellent!
The check-in at Southampton was totally pain free and took about 3 minutes because we had already used the on-line check in. We were directed to our cabin where the cabin maid (Lysette) introduced herself immediately and explained a few things of importance. Her service throughout the cruise was excellent.
Our luggage was delivered after about 3 hours so we had plenty of time to unpack and change before dinner.
The food on this ship is limited to 3 courses but is very good in both the restaurant and the Windjammer cafe. Our waiter in the restaurant was Darwin who always polite, helpful and recommended different dishes each day.
Room service was spot on. We tended to have breakfast in the cabin and we received a phone call each time informing us breakfast was on its way.

I have been on more expensive cruises in the past, with other major cruise lines, where children were left to run free and at some times were extremely disruptive late at night. The Legend has a policy whereby all children must be in their cabins by midnight which was a very welcome curfew!!

The only negative thing I can say is that our walking trip in The Channel islands was cancelled so we spent our time in St Peter port which is boring and expensive

I would recommend this ship. It is good value for your money.
