Itinerary: Bahamas

I booked this cruise with www.cruisesonly.com which I can highly recommend. They were the cheapest I had found and were wonderful to work with.

As for the cruise, overall it was a good value for the money. This is my third cruise (once on Norwegian and once on Carnival) and it was a nice cruise, but nothing special.

I would rate the ship 3 1/2 out of 5 stars because it is older, but I found it to be very, very clean. It has very nice pool and entertainment areas, but the rooms were extremely small. Our carpet was still wet when we boarded the ship because they had just cleaned it. Other than that, the room and bathroom were very clean.

The food was ok, I give it 3 out of 5 stars. It was good but not great. One thing I CAN complain about was room service. On prior ships I could order just about anything I wanted 24 hours a day. On this ship, I could not even get a peanut and butter and jelly sandwich for my 4 year old. Their room service selection was awful and the food was so-so. One thing I can say about them was they were very fast (about 5 min.).

I found the service to be very good, met several nice crew members and everyone was always smiling. We had second seating dinner in the Maytime dinning room which was nice, but halfway through the cruise, we found you could eat the same things at the Windjammer cafe at 7:30 and have a VERY nice setting (candles and dim lights which are NOT in the dining room) with the SAME FOOD in front of the windows, and a table by ourselves.
I highly recommend this, but get there at excatly 7:30 to get a seat fast.

One of the very best things I can say about this cruise is, if you have children, they have an AWESOME kids camp every day for free! The kids have sooooo much fun and do science projects, watch movies, have a scavenger hunts and do a little 'play' for the beginning of one of the ship's shows. They break it up by age and the kids just LOVE it. My 4 year old didn't even want to come back with us!

The ports were very nice, but when you get to Key West, you have to wait for U.S. Immigration to clear EVERY ONE on the ship before you can get off. They started at around 8:oo am and because a few people did not show up, we ALL waited until 11:45 before we could get off. That wasted 1/2 a day (which was sunny and it poured later) but Key West is a wonderful place with lots of fun to be had (even during a thunderstorm)!!

All in all, for the money, it was a very clean (but older) ship with decent food and good ports. I recommend the entertainment, especially "The Beat Goes On" which was very professional. It is a great 4 day cruise, but I would not want to go one this ship for the week. I think I would cruise Royal Carribean again, but on one of its' bigger ships.

OVER ALL: 3.75 out of 5 stars.
