This was just a 'getaway' cruise for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We spend 11-23-2006 in Miami Beach. (Stayed overnight at the Miami Suites on 13th and Collins for $84.00 a night- a great bargain indeed. Temps in Miami 72 Degrees F.(20 Degrees C.

Perhaps my partner and self (he brought his parents along too) are way beyond the three-night-er, but this was below expectations.

Pros:
Boarding experience was good and fast.

Food was excellent as always especially the dinners (they did away with the demeaning dances the waiters and wait staff had to do post dinner.

The wait staff made a point of remembering your FIRST name (whether or not you want to be addressed as such - perhaps asking how one would want to be addressed would be preferable).

Shows and cruise director were to expectations.

Cons:
Bar staff and waiters in deck and in lounge halls were WAY too aggressive and I mean that. In 15 minutes at the disco, no fewer than 6 approached me. This is ridiculous!!

The hallways on many decks smelt of sewage...for want of a better word. Many of the public restrooms smelt of urine.

The ship is in need of a MAJOR overhaul....and apparently this will be done early next year. It is in ok shape but showing her years. (Built in 1992).

Midnight buffet (yeah, why do they have those things??), was ok. You can see a definite scaling back of personnel and services/goods on these ships.

The cabin attendant was not seen from which was unusual as they usually come and introduce themselves

Overall, as a first time cruise it's ok.
