The ship was refurbished a couple of years ago I believe so I was expecting everything to be immaculate. One of the two pools was drained the first day we arrived, but they did fill it up that night. There was some rust around some nails that support the pools. I found this somewhat strange since the ship was just refurbished. I really was not very impressed with the pool area of the ship. I wanted a resort style pool, but maybe that was too much to ask for on a cruise ship. Everything else was really nice. You can just tell this is an older ship, but not in a bad way. Service was great no matter where we went. Everyone was friendly and willing to get you whatever you needed.

The food on this ship is GREAT! I will admit that the scrambled eggs do taste kind of funny, but everything else in the Windjammer Cafe is pretty good. The dining room is what I was completely surprised about. The food was amazing. The first night was a casual night and I ordered chicken marsala which was great. My boyfriend ordered tiger shrip with asparagus and rice and he loved it. The second night was formal night and we both ordered the filet of beef with mashed potatoes. This is different than an actual "filet." This is more like prime rib and an actual fillet is an extra $14.95. This was equally as good though. We went to Johnny Rockets the last night of the cruise and it was GREAT, fattening, but great. I had the chicken club sandwich and my boyfriend had a chili cheese dog and a cheeseburger. He couldn't stop talking about how good the cheeseburger was. Drinks are an extra $1.95 and shakes are an extra $5.00. It was $3.95 to get in. The food in the Windjammer Cafe is not great but it is good. Make sure you eat at the dining rooms for dinner because that is where you really get all of the really good food.

I also know everyone wonders about the drink prices and I definitely made a mental note so I could tell everyone...I think it will be somewhat helpful to know what you are getting yourselves into.

Can of Coors Light = $3.95 (not too bad at all)
Bottles of wine at dinner range from $23-36 (again, not too bad)
A 16 oz bottle (the aluminum ones) of Bud Light is $4.95
A Margarita is $8.95
Mixed drinks (i.e. cranberry and vodka) are about $7.00

Hope this helps...

We stayed in an inside cabin, the smallest you can get. The staterooms are small but not bad AT ALL, completely do-able for a cruise. We even relaxed in our room the last day/night of the cruise and were very comfortable. The bedding is great! Very comfortable and squishy. I had no problem sleeping any of the nights. The bathroom is small, as expected, but once again, completely do-able for a cruise. You are never in your room anyways so who cares. The room steward makes the bed and leaves fresh towels twice a day which is a really nice touch. It's great to walk into your room and have everything fresh and clean. The water bottles (evian) in the room are $3.95 so just order room service and ask for 4 glasses of water which they will bring to you for free. And it's good water, not the water you drink in Mexico. Make sure you order room service to your room. We didn't and wished we would have. It's just so great that it's all free and you can order as much as you want.

The onboard activities were REALLY fun. The comedian the first night was HILARIOUS and I usually think stand up comedy is pretty pathetic. After that, we went to the 70's party which was equally as funny. People are dancing and having a great time. Deck 11, the pool deck, always has fun stuff to do day and night. Ricky, the cruise director is awesome and is so fun to watch. He does a great job with all the activities on board and he is really funny. The second night we went to the karoke session in one of the lounges. This was entertaining, as you can imagine. After that, we went to the Love and Marriage Game Show which we actually got chosen to be on!! That was pretty exciting. It's really funny and Ricky, the cruise director, asks really embarrassing questions that keeps the audience laughing the whole time. We just hung out in our room the last night, so I'm not sure what went on.

We didn't participate in any excursions because we just wanted to relax and do our own thing. The parasailing looked like so much fun though at CocoCay. CocoCay is really nice and relaxing. There are beach chairs everywhere so don't worry about not finding a seat. The lunch was pretty good. I just had a cheeseburger but I liked it a lot. Nassau was interesting. The straw market was somewhat disappointing. There are only about 6 shops and they aren't very good. I would definitely suggest paying $16.00 for a taxi and go to Atlantis. It's really pretty and the structures that make up the building are amazing.

Overall, we had a blast on this cruise line. I would probably choose a litte bit newer ship next time, but this ship was nice for its age. It was also really cheap for us to go on this cruise where the newer ones are about $100-$300 more expensive. So for the price, this cruise was great. Everything from the food to the service to the staterooms. I loved it!!
